AT THE BARNS
Meet Our
Owners
The Barns at Nappanee is literally part of the Stutzman’s personal love story! In fact, Marlin brought Christy to The Round Barn Theatre to see a production of “Annie Get Your Gun” the night he proposed to her in 1999. Christy loves to tell the story, and says, “It was a magical night, and it started at this magical place! To now own a piece of Indiana history and a magical piece of our own personal love story is such a dream!”
With their backgrounds in agriculture, education, business and theatre, the Stutzman’s see The Barns at Nappanee as a combination of many of their own personal passions. They raise the Japanese bred Wagyu beef that is served at the restaurant at their family farm called Schönbrook, in Howe, IN.
Since purchasing The Barns property in 2020, Christy has enjoyed serving as the Executive Director and staff composer for the Round Barn Theatre. While Marlin oversees all of the business aspects of the property, Christy enjoys writing new music for original stage productions, planning the upcoming repertoire for the season, helping with educational activities and planning family friendly seasonal events on the property. With so many picturesque and historic spots to enjoy around the property, there is no end to the unique spaces that can be created for weddings, receptions, parties, and events.
Marlin shared his vision for The Barns by stating, “We want everyone to feel the same bit of magic that we do, enjoying good food, excellent entertainment and unique experiences that turn into lifetime memories at The Barns at Nappanee.”
